Package: xserver-xfree86 Version: 4.2.1-12.1 Severity: minor When doing a dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86, I went through the LONG set of answers and then after the last one, I was told: "XF86Config-4 was modified not writting it". This is awful. I think this message should be at the beginning, not at the end, after I had spent about 5 minutes selecting the options. Also, it would be nice if the message that's in the file (I found it afterwards) would be repeated there: # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated # again, run the following commands as root: # # cp /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.custom # md5sum /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 > /var/lib/xfree86/XF86Config-4.md5sum # dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux hormiga.amadeus 2.4.19-686 #1 Mon Nov 18 23:59:03 EST 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=es_AR, LC_CTYPE=es_AR (ignored: LC_ALL set) Versions of packages xserver-xfree86 depends on: ii debconf 1.3.20 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii xserver-common 4.2.1-12.1 files and utilities common to all ii zlib1g 1:1.1.4-14 compression library - runtime -- debconf information excluded
