BoldMode and BoldFont

Salut,

in xterm 222-2 was a added that changed the behaviour of BoldMode and
BoldFont. But I don't understand what's the new behaviour.

% xrdb -query | grep -E 'bold|font:'
XTerm.*.boldFont:       -misc-fixed-bold-*-*-*-18-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
XTerm.*.boldMode:       false
XTerm.*.font:   -misc-fixed-medium-*-*-*-18-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1

I want to disable the simulation of boldfonts and use the given font for
bold text. Why this does not work?
