Bug#397934: freezing, does turning off acpi help?

Package: xorg
Followup-For: Bug #397934

I noticed from your log output

Kernel command line: auto BOOT_IMAGE=Linux ro root=342 noacpi splash

the 'noacpi' option is given but that acpi is still activated according to your log output.
...
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:01:00.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 10 (level, low) -> IRQ 10
...

What is the proper way to deactivate acpi?
I have almost the same G400 with SGRAM

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G400/G450 (rev 04) (prog-if 00 [VGA])
Subsystem: Matrox Graphics, Inc. Millennium G400 16Mb SGRAM
Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR-
Latency: 32 (4000ns min, 8000ns max), Cache Line Size: 32 bytes
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 11
        Region 0: Memory at e4000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=32M]
        Region 1: Memory at e6000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
        Region 2: Memory at e7000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8M]
[virtual] Expansion ROM at e6010000 [disabled] [size=64K]
        Capabilities: <access denied>

but have no acpi running, deactivated it in bios. But I remember when I was testing acpi on my motherboard the commandline I used, was I think 'acpi=off' to turn it off completely and 'pci=noacpi' to turn it off for just pci. I don't have acpi activated and haven't experienced freezes like this. Could this be caused by an acpi bug since it seems to be triggered by inactivity?
