These two are related. I used the wrong package name for my bug report 
#389404.

The bug seems to be fixed with 2.1.2-1, at least I get those glxgears 
again, but they are flickering a lot. Also scrolling on konqueror is 
really slow... way slower than with 2.0.2.3-4. 2D-performance is greatly 
lacking with this new driver (see debian bug 390626).

Also xorg hangs with this driver on logout (see debian bug 390630).
