Hi all, I've just noticed that most of the XSF packages don't ship with a watch-file. Now, I know that some people don't like watch-files and other do, so I wanted to ask what the XSF's stance was. I have already talked to Drew Parsons about this on IRC, and he referred me to the XSF todo list[0], which lists the watch columns on the QA[1] page as one item to be done. Now, following the watch column links to the DEHS page[2], and by looking at the source of the DEHS scripts on alioth, it very much looks like these scripts use a database constructed from package watch- files to show a package's status (I will try to contact the author of DEHS to confirm this). That said, and if nobody has any objections, I was planning to systematically go through the SVN trunk and add watch-files to packages that don't have one yet. - Thierry [0]: http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/XSFTODO [1]: http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=debian-x@lists.debian.org [2]: http://dehs.alioth.debian.org/maintainer.php?name=<package>
