Bug#108753: chips driver -- works fine if he upgrades

worked on my 3400c, with 80Meg RAM.
(i'm sure it would work better with 144 but probably
not with less, i am running firefox, dillo and two terms right
now and none are  swapping)

xfree in sarge with 2.6.8 kernel and
then upgrade to etch 2.6.15 recently and xorg

i needed to use some data from my old xfree config to get xorg to run though.

suggest he upgrades to sarge (actually this is necessary because
the 2.6.15 requires the 2.6.8 to set itself up properly.

*note* no 2.6.16 for this old world mac yet .

i have a few issues but so far, defaults work, i
just had to paste in hsync, vsync, resolutions that X -config
did not find.  i did install discover package which
supposedly helps that function although it overloads
an incorrect ethernet driver - he may wish to

rmmod tulip
(the correct enet driver is a tulip variant called de2104x)

until he has server going.

the driver in sarge had some text rendering problem which is
gone now (was still useable but a pain). the only problem
i have now is sometimes colors get crazy in specific regions
such as a wterm scrollbar or an icon in FSViewer. but i will
play with the options.

hope the missing readme files show up in Xorg7.2 ....

user needs any more info he can contact me.
