Hi !

I got a very annoying problem with xorg.
I use matlab R14 on debian testing (etch), kernel 2.6.15 (homebrewn), libc6 2.3.6-15.

I launch a script in matlab that creates some windows (called "figures"). I save the contents of the window in a file then I close the window. After, I recreate windows in the next iteration of the loop. The number of windows opened is about 3 at a time.

Problem : xorg memory occupation raises each time I open a window BUT when the window is closed the memory is still occupied. Consequence : xorg saturates memory and swap. Computer is non-responsive and I cannot do anything but hard reboot.

When I close matlab the memory consumption of xorg gets back to normal.

It did not happen in the past, but I cannot tell a working version of xorg because I regularly dist-upgrade.

Anyway, I would like to thank the debian team for the great work you do and I won't miss an opportunity like a bug report to do it.

Best regards,

Joachim

Unfortunately, this is almost certainly a Matlab bug that we can't do
anything about. Thanks for your report, though.
