Given the wide range of hardware that X must support, I'm afraid that
failures with individual cards are not considered critical bugs, which means
that Debian will not issue updates fixing these bugs for a stable release.
Sarge is also the last release of Debian to include xfree86 as its X server,
so any bugfixes for xorg in testing will not be directly applicable to your
stable system.

If you're looking for help getting the card to work, you could also try the
debian-user mailing list; but if you determine that it is indeed a bug in
the X server, your best bet will probably be to install xorg, either by
installing etch or by using a backport. If you still have problems even
with X.org 7, in that case the X maintainers may be able to help ensure a
fix makes it in for etch.
