First I thought this might be related to
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4640 , but that only talks
about a client crash and incorrect display, not a server crash...

It would be great if you could get a backtrace from gdb, preferably with
an unstripped driver built with -g.
