Package: install Version: d-i beta3 I installed sarge with d-i beta3 an hour ago and I couldn't log in under gdm. As a french user I have characters in my passwords you can't get with a us keymap setting (for ex '#' is AltGr-3). Looking at /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, I saw: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "keyboard" Option "CoreKeyboard" Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" Option "XkbModel" "pc104" Option "XkbLayout" "us" EndSection I changed Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "fr" and it worked. I guess the XF86Config file was not updated when I chose my keymap/language (as I hadn't selected the X packages yet). I suppose this is the same for other keymaps/languages? Regards, Patrice.
