Package: xdm Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 Severity: important I'm running xdm with -nodaemon from init but sometimes (around once a week) it stops, not starting a new Xserver or terminating itself. Debuging the running processes the child xdm process was waiting within a futex within malloc, called by parseArgs, called by source. My best guess is that is that some signal with one of those longjump signal handlers is called within an malloc, perhaps within XOpenDisplay or something like that. (i.e. I suspect it is due to #303689, but I am not sure.) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686 Locale: LANG=de_DE@euro, LC_CTYPE=de_DE (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages xdm depends on: ii cpp 4:3.3.5-3 The GNU C preprocessor (cpp) ii debconf [debconf-2 1.4.30.13 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpam-modules 0.76-22 Pluggable Authentication Modules f ii libpam-runtime 0.76-22 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 0.76-22 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 X Window System Session Management ii libxaw7 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 X Athena widget set library ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxmu6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 X Window System miscellaneous util ii libxpm4 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 X pixmap library ii libxt6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 X Toolkit Intrinsics ii xbase-clients 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 miscellaneous X clients ii xfree86-common 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 X Window System (XFree86) infrastr ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu -- debconf information: xdm/stop_running_server_with_children: false xdm/daemon_name: /usr/bin/X11/xdm shared/default-x-display-manager: xdm

Hi, I got around writing a small test app to open packages.debian.org/reportbug the same way reportbug doesn. However it worked, I then tried with reportbug and it worked too. Seems like indeed it was an interim problem with pdo.debian.net I don't get any gzipped pages anymore from the debian servers that reportbug accesses. Thus I'm closing this bug-report. Thanks for your help. Andreas -- What happened last night can happen again.Attachment: pgpnbp7enCIvf.pgp
