Disable your dual-head setup and go with single-head only.  If you can
reproduce this by upgrading or downgrading a specific module (be sure
to power cycle after every test, including taking all power sources --
e.g. battery -- out; it only happens the first time VBE is poked on
each boot AFAICT), please let myself and alanh@fairlite.demon.co.uk
