In the past the i810 driver accelerated OpenGL
programs. As an example nexuiz (fully GPL'd FPS
nexuiz.com) would run at upto 30FPS in simple areas
and 5FPS in more complex areas. Neverball would run
smoothly, as would trackballs and other OpenGL games.
With the update i810 is not accelerated at all, it
runs at 1FPS in simple areas in nexus and 1fps in
Neverball etc.
Please fix this and improve the i810 graphix driver
(the old one should be running better then it was
also).

You need a newer kernel with the i915 (rather than i830) DRI driver.
Acceleration, both 2D and 3D works perfectly in X.Org with i810.
