Yes. How do I make the stacktrace...with gdb? like starting firefox
attach gdb to the process. Do the thing that get firefox to hang, and
then do the bt command?

The reason I am thinking it could be the xserver or some of its
libraries is that. Several programs suddently lock-up, after upgrading
x and its libs from experimental?

The programs I have seen lock-up is firefox(it seems when it will use plugins),gmplayer/mplayer(when
doing fast forward). I also see my batstat applet in gnome die, and
the panels being nonresponsive

I would gladly send you stacktraces
