hi!

for building xft2 on GNU/FreeBSD, the ltmain.sh file needs an update
to a patched version that supports that platform.

unfortunately, neither the libtool upstream version nor the libtool in
debian have applied the patch yet. so to support GNU/FreeBSD on xft2,
you'll have to apply a patch to whichever version you use for updating.

patch for upstream version:
  http://mail.gnu.org/archive/html/libtool-patches/2003-05/msg00010.html
patch for debian version:
  http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=195278

the other libtool files (eg libtool.m4) are already fixed both in upstream
and in debian.

you also have to re-run autoconf, but that's already reported (bug #185536)

Actualy my patch was merged in 1.5 branch too, so the fix made it into your
package already!!  You rock ;)

I'm closing it. Thanks for your interest anyway :)
