I'd need to know what the VESA standard modeline for this resolution is.

It is then a matter of patching
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/etc/vesamodes, a copy of which is shipped as
<URL: file:///usr/share/doc/xserver-xfree86/examples/vesamodes.gz >.
