Sure, I can try i810 as well (I'll do so tonight), but vesa should still
not be trashing my console.  :)

The reason I'm using vesa is because i810 broke horribly w/ earlier
xserver-xorgs, but I've been told that there are a bunch of
backports/fixes regarding that.
