how to share the same XF86Config-4 between two machines

How might one share the same XF86Config-4 between two machines?
I don't suppose any `if $(uname...)' statements are allowed in there.

I can share the same .bashrc file between root and user, machine1 and
machine2, using test -w / (id(1) might not be mounted), uname, etc.
How about for XF86Config-4?
