A few months ago, I was using Debian's XFree86 packages and life was good.
This morning, I was using a self-compiled snapshot of X.org and life was
good. But now, I've upgraded to our new X.org packages and life is no longer
good. My X terminals display normal text just fine, but bolded text is ugly
and almost unreadable. Here's a sample:

(incidentally, this shot includes some stray white pixels that I suspect
are a bug themselves)
