I have replied to #318092 with the updated script, I think that he is using
an already modified xorg.conf file and the dpkg-reconfigure trick does not
want to alter his file.
Daniel, could you please review if Ubuntu has this same bug? I would bet for
it, but it is strange to have been undiscovered for so much time. But given
that most of the upgrade work has been merged from Ubuntu, it is possible.
