This generation of the ATI RV280 chipset simply is not supported by
Debian's packages of XFree86 4.3.0.  (Stock XFree86 4.3.0 doesn't support
any model of RV280.)

It is by X.Org X11 6.8.2, the packaging of which for Debian is underway.

Your bug report will be closed when X.Org X11 6.8.2 packages are uploaded
to Debian unstable.
