Bug#258874: Bug #258874 - xbase-clients: startx hangs on startup with configured network which isn'tconnected

Hi , the problem you had can comes from /etc/hosts strange
configuration that was done by recent debian installers.
The problem has nothing to do with X (which just ask debian to
resolves hostname). First could you do a few tests ? Then we may
be able to track it down to a network related package upgrade.

Do you have :
127.0.0.1 localhost ... your_fqdn

your fqdn being litshi.luna.local from your tcpdump (but as i am
not a tcpdump expert maybe rice)

Can you try with commeting the litshi.luna.local part ?

(reanable it afterward, this need to be defined somewhare for a
lot of other tools but i don't know your network and so don't
know how to setup it properly , maybe your administrator or man
hosts could help) use this just as a test.

Cheers
Alban
