Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

X won't start with the following messages:
Symbol xf86ForceHWCursorfrom module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/r128_drv.0 is unresolved

before that I get5 a few messages of the form

Skipping "usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/xxx.a": yyy.o: No symbols

where xxx= libGLcore | libspeedo
and yyy= mdebug_[clip|norm|xform|vertex].o | spencode.o

when running the dist-upgrade, I always instructed debconf to use the
old versions of the configuration files

Anyone may close a bug, simply by mailing an explanation to
nnnnnn-done@bugs.debian.org; see http://www.debian.org/Bugs/ for more
information on the bug-tracking system. As the submitter retracted the
report in
<http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=289749&msg=8>, I am
closing the bug with this message; thank you for triaging these reports.
