These are common symptoms of a graphics chip lockup. The same symptoms
aren't necessarily caused by the same problem; in particular, lockups
are usually driver specific problems, so you added this information to
the wrong bug reports.

I assume you disabled acceleration to work around the problem? Does just
disabling the DRI instead work around the problem as well? If so, does
just not using Option "AGPMode" work around the problem?
