Bug#223765: Bug #223765 - kdm: fails to set locales

Hi

~/.xsession is only for the default session (Debian session).

If you choose for example "KDE session" or wmake one, X will call
kde session manager instead of .xsession.
You can either set your language in /etc/environment (it will
affect all users), then kde session manager will use it by
default (same for wmaker, gnome-session ...).
Gdm has an option to choose the language from the login manager.
I don't remind Kdm having one. With both after the session is
started you can open kcontrol (or gnome-control-center) and setup
a language for this user. Next time you will start a KDE session
fo this user this settings will be used.

I see no bugs. Maybe this could be changed to a wishlist on other
login manager so they enable to choose the language before login
in (as gdm does) ...

What is strange if you choose "kde session" is that the kde
session manager ask the language settings the first time it is
started. Maybe it did not for you ?

Cheers
Alban
