 sorry, i don't understand: this one _did_ actually stop me
 from being able to build the xserver-xfree86 package (well, the build
 completed but the debian make-install process failed)

 i _had_ done apt-get build-dep xserver-xfree86, and therefore
 i believe this to be a real error (unlike the other silly
 ones like using a ccache gcc script incorrectly).

 i will ask on the debian-x list as to what the problem might be.
