I won't be applying these patches right away, as they're not actually necessary for the next Debian package release, but this ensures that XTerm #187 is uncontaminated by the XFree86 1.1 license which is important given all the GPL-licensed derivatives of xterm in the world. :) I have submitted your reimplementation to Thomas Dickey, in the event he's interested in using it. I do note that it may be difficult to tell which code is yours and which is "XFree86's", given the trivial nature of the changes.
