Bug#234113: xlibs: problem with fr_CH
Package: xlibs
Version: 4.3.0-7
Severity: normal
Followup-For: Bug #234113
I have the same problem since yesterday, when I upgraded some X packages (I didn't change anything in config files, just
installed the new packages). The following error is displayed in the console (or in gdm logfile when I use
gdm):
The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
> Error: Can't find file "pc/fr_CH" for symbols include
> Exiting
> Abandoning symbols file "default"
Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server
And indeed, the directory /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/pc/ contains files "fr" and "fr-latin9" but no "fr_CH". But there is a file
"fr_CH" in /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/
Using "setxkbmap fr_CH" works for me too...
I was not in front of my computer during the upgrade, and it was remotely shut down so I don't know what error messages were
displayed, but now I see that I get the folling message when I try to "dpkg-reconfigure xbase-clients":
In file "/etc/menu-methods//freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-dirs", at (or in the definition that ends at) line 20:
outputencoding="UTF-8"
^
Unknown identifier: "outputencoding"
/etc/menu-methods//freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-dirs: Aborting
Update-menus[919]: Script /etc/menu-methods//freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-dirs returned error status 1.
In file "/etc/menu-methods//kdelibs-bin", at (or in the definition that ends at) line 28:
outputencoding="UTF-8"
^
Unknown identifier: "outputencoding"
/etc/menu-methods//kdelibs-bin: Aborting
Update-menus[919]: Script /etc/menu-methods//kdelibs-bin returned error status 1.
In file "/etc/menu-methods//freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-apps", at (or in the definition that ends at) line 23:
outputencoding="UTF-8"
^
Unknown identifier: "outputencoding"
/etc/menu-methods//freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-apps: Aborting
Update-menus[919]: Script /etc/menu-methods//freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-apps returned error status 1
I get more or less the same message when I try the reconfigure kdelibs-bin...
Thanks for your work.
