I have a backup file in /etc/X11 called "XF86Config-4.kxconfig.backup". It's timestamp is 2004-02-19. A diff on this backup and my "XF86Config-4" reveals only my change of display modes I did today. So from my point of view it's not the config but the package. And a reconfiguration as you suggested doesn't change the situation. bye caspar
