After reading the logs of that, I think what he means is that
Xrender-extension-aware code in the mga driver was incorrect, and has
since been fixed in XFree86 CVS.

If someone can identify the upstream revision that fixes this, a
backport can be attempted.  Otherwise we'll have to wait, probably for
XFree86 4.4.0.
