Bug#276447: xterm sometimes leaves some of the highlighted selection out of the X selection

I have found a circumstance in which I paste a selection owned by xterm,
but only part of the highlighted selection gets pasted.  It seems to
have to do with tabs and some other factors I haven't figured out.  It
seems to occur more readily in newly created xterms.  I haven't narrowed
it down any further, but I can give you steps that reproduce it for me.

    1.  open an xterm (80x24)
    2.  cat a file that fills a few screens and has tabs (attached)
    3.  triple-click select the last line of the file
    4.  scroll up until the first line in the file is visible
    5.  right-click on the first line
    6.  paste the selection somewhere

You should see only lines 1-23.  Note that line 23 was just off the
bottom of the screen, and the next line had a tab.  If I replace the
tabs in the file with spaces, I don't see the problem.  

This is a fairly obscure bug that I'm sure won't bother most people, but
it drove me batty as I chased after other presumed culprits.
