Ok, now it works, after a reboot.I had restarted the X server (obviously, as it kept crashing) since I upgraded
to xserver-xfree86-4.3.0.dfsg.1-8, but I didn't reboot before now. Sorry for the noise. Tormod ps. Sarge really rocks on this old beige g3!
