unfortunately the new package doesn't seem to solve the bug on my GeForce2 
MX400. mplayer shows the same gray window.

No, *we* thank you for the effort.

OT: is there any way to get notifications about new posts to this bug (or the 
posts themselves)? Now I have to regularly check the bug :-( Are you guys doing 
the same?
