Sorry to tell you that you are mistaken, of course.

Nvidia distributes what is an object + glue:

I remarked with <<<<< the problematic files.

As you can see with a simple "file" command, those specific files are not
exactly source files...:

ender@jane:~/debian$ file /usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv/nvidia.ko
/usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv/nvidia.ko: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel
80386, version 1 (SYSV), not stripped

What you compile is only the glue against your specific kernel and the binary
driver core.

Have not you guessed why is in non-free section?

ender@jane:~/debian$ dpkg -s nvidia-kernel-source
Package: nvidia-kernel-source
Status: install ok installed
Priority: optional
Section: non-free/x11 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
[...]

Given that your system is "tainted" (is the word we use to tell about a
system that used a non-free kernel module, you can see with "lsmod", for
example, that your kernel looks "Tainted: "), we cannot consider further
arguments. It is not about having an
I-do-not-want-non-free-things-in-your-system opinion, but in fact
we-cannot-trust-your-kernel-now-since-included-secret-code-that-could-corrupt-something.

Please do it. It gets better, and while it is not as good as the
closed-source one, it is a free alternative, and with the latter you will
have support from Debian developers.

Hope I explained to you the Debian X developers' point of view about this
issue.

 Best regards,

  Ender.
