Bug#270380: uxterm crashes whenever switching to a ncurses-based app in screen

the uxterm would crash whenever i would switch from a "normal" (no
nucurses-based app in the window) to a ncurses app, like mutt or mc.
not sure if it's the uxterm itself, or this damned kernel. i'll reboot
and try again, and follow this up.
