I'd feel most comfortable waiting until we package X.Org in the post-sarge
timeframe to close this bug.  Adding support for an option that's going to
be renamed just adds headache for us and our users.

However, if someone really wanted to seize hold of this issue in the next
few days and babysit a patch ready for merge against the SVN trunk, I might
be able to be persuaded otherwise.

It's really all about someone taking ownership of the patch.  At present, I
don't have to do so.
