Dear submitter,

You said in your installation report:

  0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc
  Radeon R350 [Radeon
  9800 Pro]
  0000:01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon
  R350 [Radeon 9800 P
  ro] (Secondary)
[...]

  Comments/Problems:

  <Perfect installation everything was fine except for the x
  installation.
  As i know my card(Ati radeon 9800 pro) is not supported i
  chose the vesa driver.
  The trouble was that the detection tried to place it on a
  wrong pci slot (0:1:0:0) I had to correct it to 1:0:0:0 so
  that x works
  Best regards and continue the good work !>

I am confused by the above. lspci's output said the correct address was
"0000:01:00.1".

The problem may be that XFree86 doesn't really recognize PCI domains in PCI
bus specifications yet.

What version of xserver-xfree86 is installed? Can you please do the
following?:

Please run the following commands from a shell prompt to gather and deliver
more information to us:

$ /usr/share/bug/xserver-xfree86 > /tmp/output 3>&1
$ mailx -s "Re: Bug#261722" 261722@bugs.debian.org < /tmp/output

If you do not have a "mailx" command on your system, you can get it by
installing the "mailx" Debian package; for example, with the "aptitude
install mailx" or "apt-get install mailx" commands as root. Alternatively,
you can also use a mail command that is compatible with mailx's
command-line syntax, such as "mutt".

Thank you!
