And so would Debian be if we falsely introduced dependencies to save
newbies from themselves when they refuse to use the tools designed for them
-- like "tasksel".

In my view part of the Debian philosophy is to accomodate newbies where
possible, but to refuse sacrificing the experts to them.

I suggest you start using tasksel, then.
