Possibly; but my rule for distinguishing xbase-clients from xutils was that
programs in the former are linked against X libraries, and programs in the
latter are not.

My thinking was that I wanted to make as many utilities as possible
available to people who wanted non-X systems.

It can be placed there without making xutils depend on X libraries.

That would defeat the purpose of xutils.

Shouldn't those emails be weekly?  When I get mails like this because of
kaffe (long story), they only arrive weekly, not nightly.

Nevertheless I agree that this is highly annoying and should be fixed.

You might be interested in the x-window-system-core or x-window-system
metapackages, which require you to remember less.

I agree that people who elect to install xutils and xbase-clients should
not be spammed by cron about broken manpage symlinks.
