The report stumbled on a minor bug (the solution to his problem was
to use other features). The bug itself is this: xterm's "Default"
font setting corresponds to the command-line -fn option. The -fb
(bold) font setting also corresponds to that. For the other font-menu
settings, xterm asks the font-server for a corresponding bold font.
When switching to a different font and back to "Default", xterm doesn't
use the -fb value, but asks the font server for a corresponding bold font.
Sometimes that's noticeable.

(I believe this bug came in when I modified xterm to do resizing of
TrueType fonts).
