The next release of Debian's XFree86 packages will render the colors used in the XTerm-color app-defaults file and the colors documented in the xterm manpage congruent again. This was originally a Debian deviation that we should have patched the manpage to document, but there's no point now, as Debian will no longer be overriding the upstream color definition. (This is no cause to rejoice for people who hate the colors I chose for Debian's xterm years ago, however; it appears I have won Mr. Dickey over, and he and I now sing the same blues, so to speak. :) ) -- G.
