(Review the past few years' worth of DSAs for xfree86.) However, apart from that, you're right -- there's no particular reason to force it off the system. And diligent users can protect themselves from malicious libc5 X clients, or not -- at their choice. You've convinced me, and I've committed a reversion of this decision as r1151. The change should appear in XFree86 4.3.0-6. -- G.
