Bug#235687: new versions of libx11-6 and libxt6 will not install (4.3.0-3)
Whoa ! That was it ! /bin/sh was linked to dash. I wonder how long
that had existed here.
I just purged the packages "dash" and "ash" from this system which were
not needed and caused this problem.
These packages and all of the new X11 4.3.0-3 packages are now installed
on this system.
