Bug#233933: X server 4.3 stalls for a few seconds when switching from console back to X

I don't think this bug should be closed:

Neither in the gpm nor in the xserver-xfree86 packages are any
statement how to setup mouse-repeationg right. Not everybody is an
expert in setting up protocol of serial mices.

On upgrading X there should be a warning if pointer device is set to
"/dev/gpmdata" _and_ "Protocol" isn't set to "IntelliMouse".

In the debian configuration of xserver-xfree86, if pointer device
"dev/gpmdata" is selected, only pointer protocol "IntelliMouse" should
be selectable, at least there should be a warning about that.

Lots of people are upgrading, having old, 100% working gpm/xfree86
configurations, which only are suboptimal for xfree86 4.3. At least
they should be informed.

So I will reopen the bug. Please feel free to close it again, if you
won't fix this issue.
