Further to this, the exact patch is at:
http://www.trinity.unimelb.edu.au/~dstone/loaderdiff

Just dump it in a tree as
debian/patches/454_ia64_implement_missing_relocations.diff or somesuch, and it
should work (it's self-contained); willy's going to test it now.
