I am closing this bug.

To my knowledge, I have done everything possible in the Debian XFree86
packages to support antialiased fonts as described by the Font
De-Uglification HOWTO.  Furthermore, this has been true for quite some
time.

If you have any specific recommendations, please file a new bug report.
