Bug#192467: Distribution of files in the packages

Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: unavailable; reported 2003-05-08
Severity: normal

Hello,
I've installed two X11 terminals with fonts taken from a xfs server with
Debian (one Woody, one unstable). There I found two things in packaging
which should be changed in my opinion.
1.) xkbcomp shouldn't be in xbase-clients, as it is needed for X11 to work
right (X keyboard extension). I think it should go to xserver-common or
xserver-xfree86. Without it, you cannot even login on a SparcStation 10 via
xdm, as the return key and many others don't work.
2.) fonts shouldn't be in x-windows-core-system, as it is the minimal
system. they should go to x-windows-core or only be a recommendation or
something. So it would be easier to set up a minimal X11 terminal.

With kind regards
	Torsten Knodt
