The vesa manpage mentioned here no longer exists in the package xserver-xfree86. The manpage does still exist in the XFree86 CVS repository, and there, this shadowfb(4) bug is fixed. So, this bug can be closed. Frank This was found at the Debian bug squashing party in Ecublens, Switzerland.
