setting title of xterm
Since some time I can't set the title of xterm windows, neither with
'xtermset -title text', nor with 'echo -ne "\033]0;text\007"' or "xterm
-title text'.
I unset PROMPT_COMMAND, of course. PROMP_COMMANDs default value here
is:
echo -ne "\033]0;${USER}@${HOSTNAME}: ${PWD}\007"
which results in a nice title, i.e. ": //".
I guess it has something to do with dsa-380. But there I read:
"Debian has resolved this problem by disabling the window title reporting
escape sequence in xterm; it is understood but ignored. The escape
sequence to set the window title has not been disabled."
So why does setting the window title not work?
I know that this isn't important. But I haven't found similar reports in the
mailing lists or bug reports, so I thought asking here was ok.
Thanks, Michael.
xterm is version 4.2.1-12.1.
