Debian 3.0 correctly detects my ATI Radeon VE QY (32 MB) card and my
_digital_ LCD monitor with "radeonfd" when booting. However, as soon as
the xserver is started with startx, which uses the "ati" driver, it
switches to analog mode. This of course causes my LCD to lose the signal
on the digital connection. Connecting an analog LCD with an analog
adapter cable to the graphics card shows the output correctly.

The xserver should use the digital output instead of switching to analog
mode. Can this be enforced somehow?

Regards,

 Thomas
